It is no surprise that when it comes to getting married around here there are some incredible locations available. Not only have we lived in this area but we’ve photographed many beautiful weddings in Oxfordshire too. It was so hard to choose, but here are our top ten favourite Oxfordshire wedding venues! 1. Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons
Le Manoir in Oxfordshire really is the ultimate setting for a luxurious wedding. Celebrations here are about being with your favourite people while enjoying the most exquisite food and service. We’ve captured intimate nuptials with just the two of us and our couple saying I do in the romantic Blanc de Blanc suite. We’ve also photographed bigger wedding celebrations in the gorgeous surrounds of La Belle Époque. Couples also have the option of exclusive use of the entire stunning premises for 120 guests! 2. Aynhoe Park
If you are after a venue that is totally and completely different you’ll be hard pressed to find any where more unique than Aynhoe Park. From the outside it simply looks like a very beautiful old English house. Step foot inside though and your imagination will be tickled by an abundance of quirky touches inherited from its intriguing owner. Floating giraffes and unicorns bedeck the beautiful light filled Orangery where ceremonies often unfold. The dining room has its own characters and make for lovely receptions…we are simply introducing the tip of the iceberg, you’ll have to explore on your own to find out more!
Steeped in history and the most stunning architecture it is impossible not to be wowed by The Bodleian Library. Set in the heart of Oxford University the dramatic interiors are just breathtaking. The Divinity School and Convocation House are two of the special settings available for ceremonies and receptions. A celebration here is always very atmospheric, exactly why we love it!
4. Rhodes House
Also part of Oxford University Rhodes House is tucked away yet in the heart of Oxford. The beautiful architecture of the grand domed entrance is truly fabulous. The stunning exterior resemble an English country mansion. These strong features boasted by the building make a great backdrop for incredible wedding photography too. Couples have use of the interiors and also have the option to have a marquee in the beautiful gardens for their big day!
For a more laidback and rustic appeal the Tythe Barn in Launton is one of the most wonderfully restored old farm barns we’ve seen. Everything about the Tythe Barn is about quality. The food by Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts is amazing. The option for guests to self carve the decadent roast dinner always creates an unforgettable dining experience. Ceremonies can be held inside and out and there are plenty of options for your drinks reception and wedding breakfast too!
If you have a penchant for history and culture the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford may just be your perfect wedding venue. Not only can the museum’s collections be incorporated into your big day but every space of the museum is licenced, giving couples plenty of options of unique backdrops against which to say I Do!
Cornwell Manor is a stunning privately owned Manor House near Chipping Norton. With a handsome facade, glorious gardens and grounds this Oxfordshire wedding venue makes a stellar first impression. Inside is just as beautiful! The pretty powder blue Ballroom a romantic space for ceremonies and receptions alike. Couples can exchange vows at the Manor House or in the historic church, which is simply a stroll away. For larger weddings of up to 300 guests there is ample space for a marquee overlooking the lakes and house.
Poundon House can be found tucked at the end of a quiet tree lined avenue in the Oxfordshire countryside near Bicester. The interiors are filled with charming details, providing beautiful rooms to overnight and get ready in on the morning of a wedding. Poundon House can accommodate intimate weddings in the Manor House itself and larger celebrations in their reception marquee. We love Poundon House’s free spirited, easy going nature mixed with old fashioned charm.
Soho Farmhouse is the new kid and also the cool kid on the Oxfordshire wedding venues scene! Designed and built from the ground up by the very creative Soho Hotel group. Soho Farmhouse has the same design led aesthetic as sister hotel Babington House but with a unique rural twist. For a truly inspired wedding day we suggest checking out this gorgeous new venue.
10. The Manor at Weston on the Green
The Manor at Weston on the Green is a beautiful country manor turned luxurious hotel. Gorgeous grounds, rooms and only twenty minutes from Oxford the setting is simply ideal. The Manor Weston can host both indoor and outdoor civil ceremonies. For the reception you can make the most of the lovely interiors or opt for a marquee for more a more sizable affair!
