We are so excited to share Joanna and Richard’s wedding on our journal today. Especially as it is on the very day of their first wedding anniversary! These two tied the knot exactly one year ago in the Cotswold countryside with a magical Lower Slaughter Manor autumn wedding. Their celebration was magnificent in every way. Our Groom had an amazing vision for the day he would marry the love of his life. Hundreds of twinkling candles and arrangements of florals, foliage, fruits and berries in an array of fiery Autumn hues set the most romantic atmosphere for the day’s celebrations. Cherished friends and relatives added to the abounding happiness of the occasion. Most touching of all was how Joanna and Richard’s two boys shared in the joy of their parents’ wedding day. It was such an honour capturing this beautiful day for our couple. Knowing our photographs have preserved such precious memories in their family’s history fills us with gladness. We know the many memories from the day will be relived every time Joanna, Richard and their children page through their wedding album for many years to come.
We spent a glorious morning with Joanna and the girls as they prepared for the ceremony. We will never forget how happy and relaxed our Bride was throughout the morning. Everyone around her couldn’t help but mirror these joyous emotions.
Joanna had chosen the most elegant Alan Hannah design for her wedding dress. It could not have suited her more perfectly, what a vision!
When we arrived with Joanna on the morning her hair and make-up was already complete. Kudos to the team at Muse Creative Hair for doing such a fabulous job!
This allowed us plenty of time to capture the more informal and natural moments, which we adore, alongside some classic portraits of our gorgeous Bride.
One of favorite moments was when Joanna saw her two boys, all dressed and ready in their suits, for the first time that morning!
Thomas and Oliver looked so dashing and grown up in their three piece suits that matched their father’s. Rose and berry buttonholes and matching ties added a pop of colour. All the florals by The Broadway Florist were simply sensational.
We just love this bridal portrait of Joanna with her two adoring boys by her side! We know it’s one our couple will treasure…
On the other side of the hallway we met Richard and his Best Man as they were getting ready.
From the start of the planning process Richard had a complete vision for an atmospheric and magical autumn wedding highlighting the season.
Richard’s impeccable taste extended towards his own style of course with a brilliant dark blue Alexander McQueen suit.
The ceremony that unfolded was moving and joyous to witness.
After the ceremony, while guests enjoyed live piano music, a fantastic magician and some delectable canapes, we stole out to the gardens for photos with our newlyweds.
Of course a few family photos with the boys were a must!
We also made the most of the picturesque Cotswold setting of the village and the gardens of Lower Slaughter Manor.
Before long it was time for Joanna and Richard to join their guests in front of the open fires while we photographed the room that our Groom’s vision had brought to life.
Authentic letter press stationery by The Letterpress of Cirencester showed a motif of a tree and falling leaves. This reflected the ode to the season that ran through all the lovely Autumnal details on the day.
Hundreds of candles created an inviting ambience and illuminated the stunning floral decor by the Broadway Florist.
With the setting just so a fabulous evening of amazing food and heartfelt moments commenced.
The evening party was officially underway as our Bride and Groom cut their wedding cake and danced their first dance!
After this it was no holds barred as absolutely everyone hit the dance floor while the live band played. Although we left soon after we were told that even the grandfathers stayed on the dancefloor till well past midnight!
Happy anniversary to Joanna and Richard. The way in which you impress your joie de vivre on everyone around you is a very special special gift. Thank you for sharing this special day with us!
